Lathe Companion Terms of Use
Effective date: October 22, 2026
About these terms
Lathe Companion is provided by Chris Paterson. These Terms of Use govern your use of the mobile app and companion relay service. By using the service, you agree to these terms. Contact support@fl0-dev.com with questions. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these terms and authorize purchases. The service is not intended for children under 13. Connected services may have additional age requirements.
What the service provides
Lathe Companion lets you connect a phone to a desktop Lathe installation that you select and approve, follow coding-agent activity, exchange messages, and respond to requests for approval or input. Connected desktop features require a compatible desktop installation, an internet connection, and an active subscription where indicated. A local demo may be available without a subscription. Desktop software, AI providers, and other third-party tools may require separate accounts, fees, and terms. A subscription to Lathe Companion does not include those services.
Subscriptions and payment
Lathe Companion Pro Monthly is an auto-renewing monthly subscription. The price, billing period, included features, and any applicable trial or introductory offer are shown in the app and on the Apple App Store or Google Play purchase confirmation before you subscribe. Prices may vary by country, currency, and taxes. The store charges the payment method associated with your store account when you confirm a purchase, or when an applicable free trial ends. RevenueCat helps validate purchases, restore access, and manage subscription entitlements; it is not the payment-card processor for store purchases.
Renewal, cancellation, and refunds
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled through the store that processed the purchase. For Apple purchases, cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period to avoid the next renewal; Apple may charge the renewal during the final 24 hours. For Google Play purchases, cancel before the next renewal under the timing shown in your Play subscription settings. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account subscription settings or Google Play subscriptions. Uninstalling the app, unpairing a desktop, or requesting data deletion does not cancel a subscription. After cancellation, access normally continues through the paid period, subject to store rules, refunds, and applicable law. Refund requests are handled under Apple or Google policies and applicable consumer law. Any unused portion of a free trial may be forfeited when a paid subscription begins, where the store provides for this. If pricing changes, notice and any required consent will be handled through the applicable store. Restore purchases using the app and the same store account used for purchase.
Your devices, content, and approvals
Only pair computers and devices you own or are authorized to access. Protect your devices, pairing codes, credentials, and cryptographic keys, and revoke pairings you no longer trust. You retain your rights in your content. You permit us and our service providers to process it only as needed to operate the service and as described in the Privacy Policy. You must have the rights or permission needed to transmit and use any content or third-party tools. Messages and approval decisions sent from your phone can cause agents or tools on your desktop to edit files, run commands, or take other actions. Review requests carefully, maintain backups, and verify generated code and other output before relying on it. Agent output may be inaccurate or unsafe; the app does not guarantee its correctness.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service for unlawful access, infringement, fraud, harassment, distributing malware, or other unlawful activity. Do not interfere with the relay, attempt to access another user’s devices or information, bypass subscription or security controls, or overload the service. These restrictions do not limit rights that applicable law gives you, including permitted security research or rights under an applicable open-source license.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how pairing information, connection metadata, optional notifications, and subscription information are handled, including deletion requests. It is available at https://privacy.lathe-ide.com/companion. Conversations are encrypted between paired endpoints as described there. This does not protect information on compromised devices or information processed by your configured agents after delivery.
Availability, changes, and ending access
Network conditions, desktop availability, maintenance, third-party services, and technical problems may interrupt the service. We may make reasonable changes to improve or secure it. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security threats, or legal requirements. Where practicable, we will explain the restriction and provide a way to contact support. If we discontinue a paid service, we will give reasonable notice and address unused paid access as required by applicable law and store policies. Ending service access does not itself cancel store billing; manage your subscription through the store.
Warranties and responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without additional promises of uninterrupted operation, error-free results, or fitness for a particular purpose. You are responsible for deciding whether to authorize desktop actions and for verifying their results. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits mandatory consumer rights, liability for fraud or intentional misconduct, or any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded. Any other limitation applies only to the extent permitted by the law that protects you.
Store terms and software licenses
Purchases are also subject to the terms of the store that processes them. For the iOS app, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement applies to the app license, alongside these service and subscription terms; these terms do not replace Apple’s standard agreement. Apple’s agreement is available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. Third-party and open-source software components remain subject to their respective licenses.
Updates and contact
We may update these terms as the service changes. We will publish the updated terms and effective date here and give additional notice where required for material changes. Changes do not remove rights you already have under applicable law. For subscription support, service issues, or questions about these terms, contact Chris Paterson at support@fl0-dev.com.
